Two photon versus one photon fluorescence excitation in whispering gallery mode microresonators. Journal of Luminescence, 2016, Vol. 170(3) pg. 860-865.

The feasability of both one photon and two photon fluorescence excitation using whispering gallery mode mircoresonators was investigated. The linear and non-linear fluorescence real-time detection of labelled IgG covalently bonded to the surface of a silica whispering gallery mode resonator (WGMR) is reported in this publication. The immunoreagents were immobilised onto the surface of the WGMR sensor layer. The developed immunosensor presented great potential as a robust sensing device for the fast and early detection of immunoreactions. The potential of microbubbles as non-linear enhancement platforms were also investigated. all of the measurements were performed in a modified confocal microscope.
